This is a full examination of the lower limbs, looking for underlying causes of the foot, ankle, knee, hip and back concern, which may be contributing to the way you are moving or the pain you may be experiencing. The aim is to understand what? And just as importantly, why? In this appointment we will focus on getting an accurate diagnosis and understand why it is happening or painful.
The assessment includes a static and dynamic assessment, looking at your range of movement, strength and flexibility. We will often use precise data tools to get objective and accurate data.
An analysis of your walking and/or running gait, which is paused and played back to fully observe your movement and posture. Sometimes we may want to use 3D gait analysis to get even more accurate data.
If necessary, the use of a diagnostic ultrasound machine may be used at no extra cost. This allows us to get more accurate diagnosis. With all this, it will help determine the best treatment plan moving forwards.
Once we have an understanding, we will create a bespoke treatment plan for you and begin in the very same appointment.
MSK (Musculoskeletal) refers to the parts of your body that help you move, like your bones, muscles, joints, and ligaments. It’s the system that supports your body and lets you move around and these appointments help us determine the cause of your pain and injury.
This is a 30 minute appointment during which a MSK podiatrist would be able to discuss your problem in more detail, take a look at your feet, with the help of ultrasound scanning if required, diagnose your condition and explain their recommendations going forward. The appointment is advise-based rather than treatment-based, however interim help reducing any severe pain rather than treating the cause of the problem can be discussed.
